Product Lines

Water based flexographic inks are used for a variety of different end use applications that demand unique performance attributes from their raw ingredients. C. Lever Colors understands this, and to that end we have developed distinct dispersion lines that will provide you with the performance your customers demand.

C. Lever Colors has three main dispersion product lines for flexographic printing. These product lines are divided into the three main categories of flexo printing: corrugated, film high quality labels and paper. Each of these three pigment lines is available in resinated and surfactant versions, and we have provided brief end-use application notes on each product.

There are many other possibilities for specific end use requirements; please call C. Lever to discuss your needs, we will be more than happy to work with you on your specific projects.

CORRUGATED:

Holdout is the main issue with corrugated flexo printing. Ink formulations for corrugated printing must be engineered to handle the unique absorption demands of corrugated board stocks. Our product line for corrugated is called CylcoSperse CR.

FILM:

Flexo inks for film must dry quickly and have balanced wetting characteristics. The resins used in these formulations must allow for excellent wetting on the substrate while controlling excessive dot-gain. Adhesion on non-porous substrate material is critical for high-performance inks. Our resin selection allows for the best adhesion possible while still maintaining ultimate print quality. The pigments in these inks must be sufficiently transparent to allow for optimum trapping for process printing and color fidelity for PMS matches and special matches. Pigment strength is also an issue with these inks, as most of them will be used in high-line count anilox rollers. Our product line for film is called CylcoSperse FM.

PAPER FORMULATIONS:

Paper formulations usually result in more ink transferring off the anilox. As a result, lower-line aniloxes require an ink that flows well and maintains a stable viscosity. Our products for paper substrates have the same quality pigments as our film line, so you can be assured of excellent color reproduction whether the colors are trapping one another or are spot colors. Our product line for paper is called CylcoSperse PR.
